New to NASCAR

Hello all, I’m a 20 year old from a small town in western Pennsylvania. NASCAR isn’t as big here as it is in certain places, however I have really became interested and started to quickly get into it after Netflix: Full Speed documentary.

I have a few questions for people who have been into it.

Can somebody give me the basics of NASCAR and I mean BASICS..

• how do playoffs work?
• Is there a regular season? -who’s the best drivers right now? -who’s the least hated? -who’s the most hated? -the basics of nascar and how it’s done

I know this sounds silly however I really want to get into it. I’ve watched for about a month but I still want to further my knowledge in this rich sport. Please don’t be offended because I don’t know, however please appreciate the respect I have for NASCAR.
