March Madness!! Remembering Kobe's 50-Point Streak 2007
Kobe Bryant became the first player since Wilt Chamberlain in 1962 to score 50-points in 4 straight games.
Record: 4-0
Stats:
Total points: 225
FG%: 54
Free-throw%: 93
TS%: 68
Minutes played: 50, 45, 45, and 47
The Lakers a poorly constructed team devoid of high end talent, were injury plagued with key players Lamar Odom and Luke Walton(yes you heard that right Luke Walton smh) missing time dealing with injuries. The Lakers had went on a 7-game losing streak putting their playoff hopes in jeapoardy in the wild Western Conference. A frustrated Kobe put the team on his back and carried the team offensively all while facing double teams, triple teams, and zone defenses.
This stretch solidified Kobe as the most prolific scorer of his era and played a huge role in him winning his second straight scoring title(31.6ppg).
*Something I want people to really grasp for my fellow athletes or former athletes here. It takes an insane level of stamina, will power, mental fortitude, and focus to accomplish what Kobe did on the court and that should be commended.
