NBA Research Paper

I know this is an unusual post, but I'm writing a research paper for my college class, and we're allowed to choose any topic as long as it can be argued against and backed up with research. I’m a self-proclaimed basketball nerd and really want to write about something to do with the NBA. Can anyone help me think of a topic that isn't just “Jordan vs. Lebron” or “NBA Media is bad”
