Carter Bryant: Draft Comps & Analytics (Charts & Graph)
Heres my breakdown of Carter Bryant college statistics and his 'Ceiling - best case scenario' is, data is derived from computed college percentiles (scales by Per 40) per draft classes.
Comp: Trey Murphy(Offensively) / (Taller) Keon Ellis
He’s still very green and another year would do him wonders. Could be your prototypical 3&D, I doubt he will Trey Murphy level shooting but will be somewhere in that next tier of shooting based off his 3PM percentile (Carter Bryant's 3PM 72th percentile to Trey Murphy's 88th percentile) and shooting efficiency. His defense will be similar to that of Keon Ellis, but bigger. I can see a Trevor Ariza as well(my database doesn’t go that far back)
Pros:
- Elite Shooting Efficiency (TS% & eFG - 90th Percentile)
- Elite Switch Defender (Steal & Block - 90th+ Percentile)
Cons:
- Lack of Scoring - (58th percentile in Scoring is below average)
Carter Bryant
Trey Murphy
Keon Ellis
"Efficient Shooting Defenders" Chart
- Top 3PM & eFG% from all labeled 'Defenders' in the past 5 drafts
- Carter Bryant is a better shooter than Wings like Christian Braun and Devin Vassell.
Let me know your thoughts on these comparisons or if you have a different one! Its a little early but I would love to hear where you think he'll go in the draft?
