A Narnia Poem I Wrote

Lamppost Show Us Aslan's Light

By: Aaron Weaver

[verse1]
Standing alone in a forest deep,
Light shining bright, forever keep.
Planted when the earth was young,
While life began with the Lion's song.
Your seed came from another place,
Traveled along with Adam's race.
A weapon from the witch's hand,
Yet you couldn't harm Aslan.
[chorus]
Lamppost show us Aslan's light,
In the thick of a forest night,
Lead us the way to lands of far,
Show us the way to Narnia.
[verse2]
Only a beaten path does go,
Through the ancient, cursed snow.
That leads to your iron base,
In the wood of Lantern Waste.
Yet when I gaze up to your light,
Hope fills me with delight.
And my heart begins to sing,
That the Lion will bring us spring.
[chorus]
Lamppost show us Aslan's light,
In the thick of a forest night,
Lead us the way to lands of far,
Show us the way to Narnia.

And I know all will be well,
From the Waterfall to Cair Paravel.
And we shall fight and reclaim,
By the strength of the Lion's Mane.

Lamppost show us Aslan's light,
In the thick of a forest night,
Lead us the way to lands of far,
Show us the way to Narnia.
