Spectators assaulted in the stadium
Spectators are considered as Gods (just like customer is God or king in businesses) because without them games cannot be sustain but the incident happened in the final match of KP Oli Cup suggests otherwise. Spectators were attacked by political organization's activists if they are meager. Mere amount of people in the stadium raised their voice on the spot against this act. Security personnel around there became bystander and did nothing against the attackers. The news reported that they even handover the spectators to the attackers who in turn get rid of them off the stadium. It was reported that 4k of the total 16k spectators were the organization's men to subdue those who protests against KP Oli. As I have also watched the game, I observed there were many vacant seats in the stadium at the later stage of the game which I am sure now were turned out to be occupied by the Oli's men.
Now referring to the initial sentence, what if no audience came to watch games in the stadium in fear of security risks or protest of the incident. There were also very few spectators during the tournament beside the final, presuming it was an exception as former popular Italian goalkeeper was invited in the final. It will ultimately affect players and stakeholders of the sport. I am in no support of disorder and vandalism but if rulers can't withstand the resentment of the general people then it is no different than autocratic rule our martyrs fought against. Therefore, to save the sports, safety of the spectators must be assured and utmost concern. Nevertheless, I see very few notable people, organizations and stakeholders of the Nepali football speaking against this incident.
