Have ancient civilizations dug up dino bones?

I grew up religious and was told not to believe in evolution for many various reasons, from it being satanic to "holes" in the theory (aka my family's ignorance of how it works). This ended up leading to me not believing in Dinosaurs until recent. One question I still have on the legitimacy of these things is the remains. People dig up dinosaurs all the time today, why didn't ancient folk? Or did they and it's just never heard about? How did they interpret them? I know in history some civilizations did a lot of digging so it seems unlikely they wouldn't have come across a dinosaur now and again. However, I suppose it's entirely possible they just thought nothing of it. But to sum this up, did ancient folk find dinosaur bones and if so how did they react.
