People who had their eyes removed

As title suggest it's exactly that. I seen video of a guy with eye completely removed on one side he said it's nothing like he doesn't see light hedoesnt see darkness or anything. So what happens if someone who no longer has any eyes in their sockets, if they see absolutely nothing how do they function? I know with dog or a walking stick but would it be different than a person who is legally blind vs person without any eyes?, as well does a person with no eyes are they still able to have visual dreams?
