What to do now?

I (23F) was in a relationship with my boyfriend (24M) for three years. We met in college, and he was my first everything—first love, first serious relationship, and the person I truly believed I would spend my life with. We had our ups and downs, but I always thought we were solid.

Things started changing a few months ago. He became distant, always on his phone but weirdly secretive about it. He started coming home late, saying he was “just catching up with the boys.” I didn’t think much of it at first—he deserved his space, and I trusted him. But then small things started piling up. He would get irritated when I asked simple questions, he started dressing up more when going out without me, and the intimacy between us dwindled.

One night, he left his laptop open while taking a shower. A message popped up on his screen from a name I didn’t recognize. Curiosity got the best of me, and I clicked. What I saw shattered me. It was months’ worth of messages between him and another girl—late-night conversations, flirting, and explicit messages. He told her he loved her. He told her he wished he had met her sooner. He told her things he used to say to me.

I was numb. I didn’t even cry at first. Instead, I took screenshots, transferred them to my phone, and just sat there, staring at the messages, reading and rereading everything. When he came out of the shower, I confronted him immediately. He denied it at first, called me crazy, even got angry at me for invading his “privacy.” But when I showed him the screenshots, he just went silent. No apology, no regret—just silence. That’s when I knew.

I packed my things and left that night. I blocked him on everything
