Boox page randomly closes apps from playstore?

So I recently got a boox page and everything is pretty good except this semi-minor inconvenience. I would be using an app installed from the play store like firefox or quizlet and if I go home and leave it in the background to go use another app for like more than 3 mins, the boox tablet will close it automatically. This doesn't happen with native boox apps like the neo reader or clock so I am quite confused what is going on here.
