Will graphics card prices drop after the new generation announcement in January 2025, or should I buy the RTX 4070 Super now?

I just wanna know because me and my girlfriend is currently eyeing to buy graphics card, we thought it would be cheaper to buy next year but we are not sure if the price will go down as soon as the announcement goes up. Do you think it is best to wait after the announcement or we can buy it now? We are not really sure how the sale goes for this one.
