4 month F2P experience
Here’s how I’m feeling/my thoughts for f2p players. I have been playing very consistently for 4 months. I think what I’ve seen with pack releases is a little bit of a …de-incentivizing cycle? When packs release, you get excited about trying new decks that get shown or talked about on YouTube channels/reddit forums . Unfortunately most of the time I can’t play the full deck list for a long time with drop rates being what they are. And such a pathetic supply of hourglasses. By the time I do get it, typically the excitement of playing it is mostly gone and new packs are released. Pack points would be a fantastic balancing feature but they reset with every new expansion, making them practically useless for F2P players. By the time I get to 100 packs opened the new expansion has dropped, meta has shifted and I don’t really care about the card I wanted before.
Much of my PTCG experience has been enjoying (to a far lessened degree) large aspects of the game through other players and not my own gaming experience. Generally, I’m getting strangely burnt out by this cycle and have shifted toward passive collecting.
New update: I think the introduction of ways to grind to get more cards you need earlier if you want to put in time would be nice for me personally and the addition of getting a full deck list when I get a highlight card could help this as well.
What do you guys think about the overall structure of the game for F2P or low spending players and do you think the coming updates will help or hurt us?
