Found near Waldron Street - Black Cat, deceased, wrapped in a pink blankey

So, I found a dead cat, wrapped in a pink blanket, on fifth street between Russell and Waldron streets (in the shrubbery by the open plot). I did not touch the body or the blanket in any way, but by investigating with a stick, I determined it to be a black cat. I left the cat and the blanket as I found it, after re-tucking the blanket with the stick.

Has anyone heard about a missing black cat recently? Is there anyone I need to contact about animal body disposal? Recommended next steps?
