I'm really worried Restoration is gonna suck...
tldr probably at the bottom.
I've seen mentions of leaks in some posts, so I'm not entirely sure if people know anything already. But after watching the trailer, I'm thinking about a lot of potential factors that could ruin this final season. Speaking of, number 1... it's not a season. It's an 80 minute "movie", not on any particular streaming service or YouTube. Just available to buy, as far as I know. That sucks.
Then there's what I've seen from the trailer. The armour for some of the characters... they suck. Or at least, could be way better. I know thus was all played and filmed before all the new armours and cross-core updates, but they fact that we already know how much better these characters can look (Meta & Caboose for example), it's gonna suck. Then there's the animation. Goodness. I'm not gonna cry like some people, this is a machinima and an Internet-show. But the fact that the animation is going to look lackluster for the final s̶e̶a̶s̶o̶n̶ event, it's gonna suck. I'm not entirely sure if that's just because of Infinite's assets and models, or just because of RT's staff inconveniences, but it's still the case. Something that definitely could be a problem from Infinite, is its theater mode. It's not good, it's pretty bad. At least, it was the last time I recall. So I hope that's not a burden.
In terms of writing, Burnie's back. Fantastic. But a worry that I have that is definitely just my own, is the potential reton. They weren't perfect, bit I rather enjoyed season 15, 16 and 17. They had some pretty good character moments and arc, I'd hate to see it all mean "nothing". And from what I've seen, the story is about the return of Omega and the Meta, to some degree. It's potentially interesting, of course, but how many times to shows do this. Bring back old threats, antagonists or characters because... Well what else can we do? It can be done well, but I'm hoping it doesn't come off as cheap and pointless.
Then there's the obvious. RT's demise. The studio have been on the decline for a long time now, and they've finally been shut down. It's terrible, and it's sad. They were part of the peak for the internet's 2000's, and even into the early 2010's. To see it all end is depressing, how it ended is depressing. But you gotta wonder what this has meant for Red vs Blue. We saw the decision to remove all RvB content from YouTube, even after spending the past couple years making the 'complete' series. And then they still closed down. I'm just stuck wondering what all this meant for, not just the finale of Red vs Blue, but as a title and a franchise.
So, tldr; • availability • bad character designs? • janky animation? • mid writing? • RT bungled it?
Who knows. I hope it's great, but wow. My hope low.
