IWC Pilot Mark XX Rep VS Gen Comparison

The IWC Mark XX is listed as an NWBIG in the spreadsheet. I’m fortunate to own both the green (rep) and black (gen) versions, so I wanted to share my comparison for anyone interested.

Overall, these watches are nearly identical, with the main differences being the movement and the bracelet. The gen has a 120-hour power reserve and an incredibly smooth movement, while the rep offers around 40 hours and isn’t quite as refined. That said, it’s the smoothest rep I own—even compared to several Rolex reps—so I’m very impressed with the Seagull movement.

The biggest distinction, however, is in the bracelet. I’ve tried to highlight this in the pictures. On the rep, the end links angle sharply downward, preventing the bracelet from sitting flush on the wrist. While this isn’t an issue for me, it might be for those with larger wrists. The gen, on the other hand, has end links that flare outward and sit naturally. Because of this major flaw, I don’t think the rep should be classified as NWBIG if worn on a bracelet—maybe on leather, but not as-is.

Feel free to ask any questions. Have a great weekend, everyone!
