Cost incurred
Hey guys, I’m a contractor and am trying to explore opportunities where I don’t have to depend on the insurance companies dictation of price when dealing with a claim. I am a firm believer in what should be charged for my services especially when fighting claims for months at a time at points. When insurance turns around and wants to pay a horrible margin because they “follow estimating guidelines” by excluding simple crap on the roof and coming in below the margin lines, I can’t help but prep my homeowners to duke it out with their insurance for not paying them (a select few) properly on their claim. I am looking for legit guidance on the “cost incurred” model. I’m sick of trying to supplement a claim and waiting for three adjusters and 20 BS reason why they won’t pay for simple crap because “we don’t owe for that” on a very straight forward R+R.
Note: there’s going to be a bunch of hard asses making crappy comments here. Put your ego to the side for how you’re so much better than me. I’m trying to get to where you guys are. Teach.
