Anybody else thinks they’re paying too much for SaaS?
I run a small online media site in a niche that makes revenue from direct advertising and a couple of online products. Recently, I’ve been reviewing the SaaS we pay for and the pricing just makes less and less sense. Reason I’m posting is that it’s not any SaaS in particular but the whole lot of them.
We use Typeform to get feedback from users, about 30 responses a month.
We use Convertkit to send email newsletters (about 13k subscribers, but difficult to monetise)
Zendesk for customer chat. But I realise we’re usually offline and end up replying the auto email that is sent instead.
My gripe is that as the business stabilised, I’m using these products in the same simple way, and I don’t even need any changes or fancy additions. They don’t drive any growth for me, and yet I find the prices increasing because of their artificial tiering systems. Like for typeform I’m pretty sure their difference in cost is negligible whether you have 5 or 30 or 200 responses.
Their business structure doesn’t seem to reflect to business value reality.
Anybody else feels the same way?
