RPGs where your choices actively shape the environment
I find myself craving a bit of that Fable 3 flavour after about 15 years. I know people like to crap on the game a bit for the combat being too easy etc (and it is), but one thing that game did really well (I think), was changing the world to suit your choices. The one that's on my mind is the decision between saving Bower Lake and allowing Reaver to turn it into a coal mine. Or when you can allow him to put children to work in his factories, or allowing the deforestation around the mountain region.
Just walking around the world you can immediately and visually see the impacts of your decisions and it feels amazing to have such an impact.
I've also played Skyrim and Mass Effect, and whilst those are great, they don't really change the world to such an extent as you get in Fable. Mass Effect can change a lot story-wise (particularly with council decisions) but the physical world is still very much the same for the most part. Skyrim is a bit better with some minor environmental destruction visible and being able to install different Jarl's depending on how you play the civil war, but that's basically the extent of it.
I've recently played BG3, and that was also great, particularly with how you can play Act 2 I thought.
I'm preferring to look at more recent games (last 10 years) if that helps
