Think I Might Have Sleep Paralysis
So I've had this recurring thing for a few months and I'm not sure what to make of it. I don't think it fits the traditional definition of sleep paralysis either, but I'm not sure what else it would be.
It happens most often when I wake up in the middle of the night or before my alarm typically wakes me up. When I try and go back to bed, something strange happens. I have tinnitus so my ears have a low ringing in them most of the time, but when I try going back to sleep it gets really loud and intense. I also can't move when this happens, but I can visualize myself flailing around, and eventually, that will allow me to move around again. However, when I lay back down this process often repeats itself and I get stuck in a cycle.
I'm not entirely sure what to do about it. Obviously, it can't hurt me but it still feels freaky. Trying to move makes me panic, but trying to stay still and go along with it also freaks me out as well. I also sometimes get visual hallucinations from them, but they have a wide range of intensity.
Has anybody else experienced something like this? Is this just another form of sleep paralysis? Honestly hearing anything about this would make me feel a little bit better, to be honest.
