Clear backgrounds with bubbles/waves/etc - line up the pieces so the elements in the clear all match direction or randomize?

I’m about to start cutting a large piece that will go in a window and selected some wavy clear glass for a background. I’m not sure if I should try to line up the waves in the clear such that they all match direction or just embrace the randomness of it. What are your thoughts and preferences?
