Feel scammed by Folksuniversitetet. Terrible Swedish course, what to do?

Hey,

I live in Germany and booked an online intensive A2 Swedish course from Folksuniversitetet Malmö.

We were only 7 in the group. The course was extremely boring. The teacher didn't correct our pronunciation, didn't track our progress, wasn't interested in whether we learnt something or not. We didn't even to listening excercises even though there are plenty of them in Rivstart.

Every lesson was like this: check the homework, then he gave us some new excercise that we had to do in groups (breakout rooms). We ended up doing those excercises, speaking English (it was like: " i think here is B. No, here should be C i think. But I'm not sure." Sometimes we just switched off our cameras and did nothing because the excercise was so boring or dumb). Most of the time the teachers was just chilling in the main room doing nothing, sometimes he went from one group to another for like 30 sec each and then chilled again. Then we checked this excercise in the main room, each reading one sentence. Then he might have explained a new topic, then new excercise and new breakout rooms. SOMETIMES we had some interesting talks.

So instead of talking to the native speaker we talked to each other in English and the native speaker was just chilling. We are only 7 so we could do everything in the main session, even speak to each other, we were not so many people. Two people are speking to each other, others are listening, the teacher corrects. Smth like this.

I even noted how much time we wasted in the breakout rooms during the last lesson. The lesson was 2:45 and the total time of the breakout sessions was 1:30 (!!!). This is MORE than a half of the lesson. We basically did every excercise twice.

If I want to speak very broken Swedish with people who also barely speak it I can do it for free, there are plenty of options. If I want to speak English there are even more options and I do it every day anyway, also for free.

I'm supposed to have A2 after this course of 56 hours but clearly I don't have it. I'm not ready for B1. I can't say that I learnt nothing, but I clearly don't have A2. And yes, I did all the homeworks.

I feel totally scammed. I would never expect such a terrible teaching quality in Sweden, a country with extremely high standsrds of everything (or am I too naive?). If I pay €550 I expect very good, dynamic, well-organized teaching that brings results, and not THIS. I studied at a German university and took a lot of language courses. Most of them were amazing, very dynamic, a lot of speaking, very systematic and well organized, a lot of laughs and very good progress (mostly online, too).

So basically my questions:

  1. Is it possible to do something about it? Get a refund?
  2. Are the courses at FU mostly like this? I need to do B1 and the only option for a intensive course is FU Malmö again, with a different teacher though. I can't afford private tutoring, €30 per lesson is way too much.
  3. Your opinion on that?

Thanks!
