Kentucky Meat Shower

Frank Reiser, a retired biology professor who collects antique microscope slides, bought a collection of slides once owned by Jacob Delson Cox. Cox was the Governor of Ohio (1866-1868), US Secretary of the Interior (1869-1870), a US Representative (1877-1879), the President of the University of Cincinnati (1885-1889), and a microbiologist. Included in the slides was a sample from the Kentucky Meat Shower.

[The Kentucky Meat Shower was on March 3, 1876. The slide is labeled Kentuckey Meat-shower, of 1875. Reiser believes the slide was mislabeled by Cox’s brother.]
