Weapons

I started playing today and I’m a good 4 hours in. I don’t know if this will change but the 3 first weapons you pick up are somehow the best you can get? The scaling is better which massively increases their damage in contrast to the other weapons I’ve found. Does this change or am I doing something wrong?
