Analyzing Armed With Death: Lee Everett’s Final Stand

For those who don’t remember, “Armed With Death” (also known as “The Gauntlet”) is the scene where Lee, already dying from a walker bite, fights his way through a massive horde of walkers, cutting down as many as he can—all while epic music plays in the background. But in my opinion, this moment is more than just an action sequence. Today, I’m going to share my interpretation of what this scene represents.

Throughout No Time Left we see that Lee is trying to deal with the fact that he is going to die, wishing that things played out differently, But as the episode progresses, and as he keeps losing people—first Ben and Kenny, then being separated from Omid and Christa, he slowly comes to terms with his death and then he sees it. the march house, he came all this way and he knows Clementine is just within his reach but unfortunately, there is a horde of walkers that stand in his way, but this does little to deter Lee away, and at that moment he has accepted his death. Lee knows from this point forward that he is going to die but that just doesn’t matter to him anymore, what matters now is saving Clementine his daughter and it’s absolutely beautiful.
