I need a refund on non refundable tickets.

I’m fully aware what non refundable means and how strict the policies are on such matters. However, what had happened was… I booked 3 tickets with American Airlines for my boyfriend and his two friends to go to Miami. At first I was doing it through the website but there was some kind of glitch where it kept saying my security code was required even though I entered it every single time. I tried two of my own cards and then tried my friends card and it wouldn’t work. So then I called them to book it over the phone. Everything seemed fine except a few hours later I was trying to check in the flight and when I entered the info it said it was cancelled. So I called them again and the woman I spoke to confused me. She said that the tickets were flagged as fraud or something blah blah blah so I wasn’t gonna be able to get on the flight anyway. So I was like okay can I just get a refund so I can buy new tickets. And she said I would have to dispute it with my bank. So I’ve just been waiting for the transaction to post. Based on everything I’ve seen online I don’t think I’m getting a refund but I really need that money back. I’m a college student, my car is fucked up and that was my money to fix it, and I’m just praying that maybe since I did get confused by one of their agents and bought new tickets anyway maybe they’ll make an exception?

Edit: also the only reason I bought non refundable tickets is because they were traveling that same day in like 3 hours. And they’re shouldn’t have been any issues.
