Is there a reason uptown is still not getting a lightrail station?

Is it just inconveniently located? are uptown streets too small?

I moved here from out of state a year or so ago and uptown is not nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. My biggest qualm is that I need to drive/uber to downtown/northloop or take a 30+ minute bus ride. A lot of business struggles but the food and drinks here are great, there’s lots of little businesses. We’re so close to the lakes which are great to hang out, picnic, walk, run, kayak etc. There’s crime and a lot homeless people here but there’s the same downtown (plus maybe the homeless people and the business struggles probably go hand in hand). I think honestly if more people were coming here it would help uptown get it back together.

Also it would be nice to not have to park downtown when things are happening, or to not have to drive and be sober at bars.
