worth reapplying?

Evening all, I've been working a big tech company for nearly 2 years and 1 year of this has been as a Team Leader. My management recently posted a job for someone to become my manager (ops level).

Being the optimistic person I am, I applied. Bear in my the people I would end up managing are people I've managed previously and help promote.

Not even an interview. My line manager just said no. Not enough experience and some other waffle.

Roll on 6 weeks later they still can't find anyone and management keep talking about the fact they can't.

Question is do I reapply? re ask if I can interview for it?
