Everyone talks about the expensive - what about the cheap?

There's always give and take with things. I know food in iceland is expensive, and other things as well. Are there things that would seem cheap compared to the US though? Like oh this is a god place to get xyz, it is cheaper here for some reason?

I'll add that I live in a tourist area in the US so food prices on Iceland don't seem very expensive to me overall
