My worst fear came true.
Well, here's to the best three years of my life.
My birthday was on the 13th, and I was sick as hell. Birthday sucked, thought "well I go home tomorrow, then I can do something fun!"
Until some idiot driving a semi decided to spontaneously park in the middle of a main highway AND right after the crest of a blind hill, causing a 15 car mass chaos collision. Not to mention in the middle of two lanes.
When I crested the hill, four cars were already smashed, scattered across both lanes. I had about one second to react. Unfortunately, there was also ice under the snow. Tried to just hit the ditch. Car slid sideways but kept moving forward. Impacted the right rear corner of an SUV going about 80km/h. Walked out with a killer headache and some glass cuts, a pretty bum shoulder, but nothing else (aside from my completely destroyed mental health).
This car gave me my life back, made me remember who I am and not who I tried to be earlier in life just to be accepted. It brought back my desire to engineer, to create, to design. It was my test vehicle for the parts I've been creating. All taken because someone decided to do something completely idiotic.
Though, I have to say, this car absolutely fucking tanked the hit. It was dead on straight to my drivers side door. I had to climb out the passengers seat because it was jammed, but with how hard I hit, I genuinely expected far worse. 10/10 safety, will 100% be purchasing again.
Just won't be the same. I know cars can be replaced, but with the blood sweat and tears I poured into this car, it can't ever be replaced. It feels like part of me died with it.
🫡 I salute you, Subaru.
(Oh, and to the other WRX that passed me while filming my poor cars corpse, if you're here...send it to me. It was by far the worst and best comedic timing.😂)
