[Question] Graduation Gift

I wanted to get unbiased advice on a big purchase.  I have two kids graduating college this spring.  My dad gave me a Mont Blanc pen when I graduated and I still use it to this day. It is loaded with memories and emotions. Because of that, I wanted to get my kids a gift that is also something memorable that would also align with my values.  I was thinking a heirloom like watch that would last like my pen.

When I did some searching the watch costs are all over the place. Our budget is $2500 USD (preferred) to $7500 USD (with great reasoning).

To me the a watch symbolizes few things:

Time: I have been reading stoicism since COVID and Momento Mori and being present matters to me.

Compass: I was hoping to have a compass in it. As I want them to always stay true to their north and value system.

Heirloom:  I want something lasting in a fleeting world of quick consumption, so a quality purchase they can expect to have and use for their lifetime.

Emergency Fund:  I want something that in a worst case scenario they can sell for money. Hopefully that never happens but it can hold value for them.

I would love people’s thoughts.
