Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is Just Too Boring for Me
I know Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is getting a lot of praise for its melancholic tone and slow, reflective storytelling, but honestly, I just find it boring. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the beautiful animation and the concept of exploring what happens after the hero's journey, but the pacing is just so slow that it feels like nothing is really happening.
Every episode drags on with minimal character development or plot progression. I get that it’s supposed to be more about the journey and the introspective moments, but it feels like it’s just stretching out small, simple ideas over an entire episode (or more). I keep waiting for something exciting or unexpected to happen, but it never does.
Maybe I’m just not the target audience, or maybe I’m too used to more action-oriented or fast-paced series, but I can’t help feeling like Frieren is more of a chore to watch than a pleasure. Am I the only one who feels this way? Anyone else finding Frieren a bit too slow and uneventful?
