Authentic Mexican food

Hi everyone!

I have been on the hunt for some authentic Mexican food in and around Asheville! I know I am going to ruffle some feathers when I say I just do not like papas and beer, and similar Tex-mex style restaurants! I don’t think there is enough flavor. Everything is typically very bland to me at these places. I have found one that I hold near and dear to my heart- Ay Carambas! They are so good and have a salsa bar! Tons of flavor in their dishes, and it seems to be Latina/Latino owned and run. I’m sorry if I am saying that incorrectly, I only mean my most sincere compliments and appreciation. That is also usually a sign for me that it is going to be gooooood!

I’ve tried other places (mamacitas, cantina Louie, different locations of papas and beer) but I get the same bland Tex-mex feel. Next on my list to try is Cowboys! Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding.
