My neighbour may be taking photos/videos of me. What can I do?
I'm staying in a unit adjacent to a corner unit and there is a guy staying together with his family of orientation. The guy seems to be in his mid 50s~60s.
Lately I realised that he may have been taking photos of me if he happens to see me when I leave the house, or when I go to the corridor to water/tend to my plants.
I didn't notice much about it but I always hear the phone camera shutter when I wasn't looking. I know some seniors dont know how to mute their phones (like my parents/grandparents) so I initially thought that maybe he was just screenshoting smth from his phone.
However, in the past couple of days I happened to turn around when I heard the shutter and I saw he was holding his camera up to me, but he'd quickly put it away and close the door. I think this is the first time I saw him doing that.
Today, when I was tending to my plants (pruning and repotting), he has been going in and out for the house for about 4~5 times. I didn't hear the shutter this time but when I stood up to make sure I wasn't blocking his path, I saw that he was recording video.
I didn't explicitly see him recording me but because I was way taller than him but I saw that his phone is in video record mode. When I stood up he'd put his phone lower so in his phone I saw that he was recording the corridor floor.
Because our units are adjacent, we basically share the same area in front of the door step, so even if he really did take any video or photos of me at the door step or along the corridor, it's definitely not illegal.
Is there anything I can do about it? I didn't dare to confront him earlier because I was shocked and creep out and I don't know what I can do. I have never spoken to him before. I don't suppose I can ask him to show me his photo album to prove that he didn't take photos/videos.
From what I know the family is quite estrange so it seems to be hard to get his family member to check his phone either, and I won't be able to press further if he refuses.
He's not doing anything illegal. He's taking photos/videos of a public space - the common corridor, and from his door step/along the corridor. I don't have any concrete proof and I may be wrong. But I felt really uncomfortable and creep out by it. What should I do?
