Why are a lot of gay men so shallow?

First of all I said a lot not all, so do not come for my throat.

Mainly I ask this question in the basis of a lot of gay men rejecting other queer men when it comes to sex, relationships, or even friendships.

I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I do notice a trend about mainly a type of guy (mainly white, fit, masculine, and well endowed) tends to be what a lot of gay men find attractive, yet is there any outliers like gay men being into I don't know bears, femmes, or men of color.

As for my experience, I don't have any gay male friends but it isn't for the lack of trying it seems like they want to befriend only attractive men or people that look just like them. I don't know but I prefer befriending people for having mutual interest and just being chill physical appearance does not play a factor.

P.S. This is not a dig to all gay men or anyone in this subreddit just an observation, also please share in the comments if you ever felt the same or want to voice a different opinion.
