has disability support work become over saturated?

I have constantly been told that disability support workers are always needed and are in high demand, but I've been applying for jobs in Geelong and sometimes there are over 200 applicants for a single job?? hireup doesn't offer anything either.. I've talked to a heap of support workers who found it easy to get a job with no qualifications (i'm finishing a traineeship with intent to keep upskilling) and I don't understand how that is even possible?
