New to collecting baseball cards
I’ve been telling myself for the past two years that I’m going to use my betting profits to start collecting sports memorabilia. Yesterday I decided to pull the trigger and get into collecting cards. Before I started buying cards I wanted to do some rips to get familiarized with the hobby before I start spending money on graded cards. So far this is my 2025 series 1 haul from: 4x hangars, 3x mega, 1x value box.
I have a full set of the stars of mlb and about to complete a second. (I’m assuming sets are the only way to make these worth anything as they are so abundant)
I’ve either completed a whole base card set or close to it, but I’ve yet to check.
I would like to rip a jumbo hobby box if I could get my hands on one in Houston, but I need to call around and see what I can find. No relics or signatures yet, but I’ll stick to retail packs weekly for the fun of it and buy graded cards over time for the collection.
This also may be the first picture uploaded of the vintage Zack Wheeler /99 card with the ‘67 Topps logo. I could not find one anywhere when looking for value.
Any tips for the hobby or comments on the cards are appreciated!
