Is anybody kind of surprised by how still Bass stay once they're caught?

Kind of a dumb post..but I'm always kind of shocked that once I land a bass, it basically goes completely limp while taking the hook out,,weighing, pictures, etc.

My only other experience is fishing offshore and basically anything you land in that scenario thrashes around like it's demonically possessed.

Idk, just a weird observation
