Early September grass fishing
I'm in mid Missouri. There is a conservation land about 10 minutes from my house that has a ton of smaller lakes on it. There is one in particular that is my absolute favorite. You have to walk about 2 miles with your kayak to fish it, so nobody ever does(except me cause I'm about that life). It's by far a honey hole. Average bass out of there is 1 3/4 lb.
Come September, myself and a buddy will be camping out there for 4 days fishing, hiking and what not. The only issue is Come August, the submerged vegetation is to the top of the water in a lot of parts. I haven't done much fishing in this thick of vegetation. I've done some.
My question to yall is: setup? Usually if I do flip or pitch I have 2 rigs on hand: a weightless 5" green pumpkin or black/blue senko(and 1/4oz bullet weight if needed) 1/4 oz swim jig with a green pumpkin or blue craw. Both are on 25 lb threaded. I never have much luck. Any tips or tricks? Not all of the lake has grass like this. It's just a few specific spots. But one of the spots is a good acre I'd say.
