To everyone complaining about Julard and GBB24
Respectfully, shut the fuck up.
and please read this whole thing before getting angry at me in the comments.
Alot of people are not satisfied with Julard winning the solo category this year, because he's "just power". He's not "just power", that is a very unintellectual opinion. Yes, power is his main thing, alot of beatboxers have a main thing. Codfish's main thing is singing and throat bass, Colaps's main thing is tech, NaPoM's main thing is liprolls. It's okay to have a main thing. This double standard is just stupid. Do you realise how many people were complaining about NaPoM and Codfish's wins at the time of their victories, ALOT. But now y'all say NaPoM and Codfish are legends and say that Julard "iS oNe oF tHe wUrSt gBb wInNeRs oF aLl tImE". You'll look back in a few years and regret all of the shit you said about Julard, just like with NaPoM and Codfish, when will you learn.
And Julard is NOT just power. He was the best battler easily at this gbb, and his counters were brutal, and no, unlike what Den said, theyre not just clickrolls, they were all pretty/very accurate counters, especially the Kaji one. He also had amazing battle energy, stage presence and crowd control. He also has amazing flow and I dont think he made a single timing mistake this GBB. His routines always have very satisfying flow and feel just as complete as say Osis for an example, just with less complexity. Also do you realise JUST how powerful he is? Yes he was obviously boosted by the sound system but he's still very fuckin loud. I feel like Julard would have still won on the gbb23 sound system. He simply out executed and out battled all three of his opponents, and he's clearly gotten just way louder in general compared to gbb23, and he was already pretty loud then.
Y'all say, "beatboxing shouldn't be all about power", well beatboxing shouldnt be about who makes the craziest noises either, its music. It should be enjoyable to listen to, which Julard provided and people like Stitch didnt provide that as much imo. Stitch just made a very detailed composition with lots of crazy sounds, but it lacked enjoyability value. Hence why he didnt get in. Julard only got 7th in the elims anyway and he showcases some of his most powerful beatboxing there.
Also a sidenote for y'all criticizing Kaji too, saying he's "terrible to listen to" but then go on to praise people like Stitch who imo is way less enjoyable to listen to. Yes Kaji lacks cleanliness sometimes but he's a stage and battle machine.
Dont get me wrong, Its completely ok if you dont personally agree with Julard's win, I didn't personally agree with River's win last year. But I didnt go on to say that it was undeserved and that "bEaTbOx iS gOinG bAcKwArDs" and that gbb is rigged. Show some respect. These artists all worked very hard to be here, and especially to win, so treat them with some respect. And about the things I said about Stitch, I dont mean no disrespect I'm just saying why I personally think he didnt get in, I'm not saying he doesnt deserve it, but show our GBB24 champion some respect come on guys.
Peace, Gengar
