This isn’t normal… right?

I added this filter TWO days ago and it is this dirty. I feel like this cannot be right. My tank doesn’t seem dirty and my betta is doing fine along with his shrimp and snail buddies. I’ve had him for almost 2 years now and I’m still not the most educated on how everything works. Anything helps!
