Considering using this as a still water tank

I'm considering keeping a betta fish in a large 2 gallon glass vase. To create a healthy environment, I'll add sand or smooth pebbles, properly chlorinate the water, and use test kits to monitor water quality. I'll also incorporate real plants, like pothos and possibly moss or wood, to create a natural setting. To maintain conditions, I'll perform weekly water changes and monitor my betta's health for signs of sickness or boredom. An aquarium employee assured me that weekly water changes will suffice, eliminating the need for an automatic filtration system. What do y’all think? Could this work?
