Who is the most evil character in fiction literature?

For me it has to be Cathy Ames in East of Eden. I just finished the book and every single scene she was in creeped me out. She had no remorse and the only thing she seemed to enjoy was ruining peoples lives. At least Charles and Cal (who were somewhat similar to her) had redeeming factors, she had absolutely none.
