A note:

The Cyrillic alphabet was not created by Cyril and Methodious. They created the glagolitic alphabet and when they fled to Bulgaria, Bulgaria welcomed them as scholars. A school was established by Bulgaria at those times, the Preslav school. There studied the 5 Bulgarian students that were Cyril and Methodious's puppets after they settled in Bulgaria. These 5 students created the Cyrillic alphabet and named it after their teacher Cyrill. In Bulgaria we honor them as Свети Седмочисленици[Sveti Sedmochislenitsi] meaning the holly seven.
