need to rant
I have been in Calgary since 2012, leaving my parents behind to come here as a Grade 9 student. Homestayed at my uncles place for the first 5 years until I went to uni where I lived in res. I completed my entire education here—junior high, high school, and university—before securing full-time employment as a Business Analyst immediately after graduating in 2023. 12/12 on the PR English test thing, no criminal record, and have relatives in Calgary. Yet, despite my long-standing contributions and deep ties to this province, my PR application remains uncertain. I’ve been waiting for my ITA for about a year and applied for AAIP as well, but no updates lol
I just want something that feels fair yk? After 13 years of building my life here—10 of which my family paid significantly higher international tuition fees while I also paid taxes—I believe those who have integrated, contributed, and met all qualifications should be prioritized. It’s frustrating to see applicants who struggle with basic language skills get through while others, who have fully committed and deserving continue to wait and struggle lol, nothing is flower and rainbow but f this system man
