First time gun buyer/owner: stuck between elite sc and mc9
Hey all!!
So as the title says, first time gun buyer. A little backstory: I've been interested in guns for several years and have shot a few times each year but never thought it was the right time financially or mentally for me to own a gun. Fast forward a few years and now my wife is pregnant with our first baby and we have our first home.
So with the child on the way and a new home in a more suburban area(not a ton of crime, but not none), I want to have something to protect my self, my family and my home. I also want to start up a new hobby and do some recreational shooting and training.
So I've taken my ccw course and have applied for the permit. I've visited the local range and shot a handful of guns and have mostly settled on the caniks. Largely because of the trigger feel and price.
Here is the dilemma (that everyone else has posted in this sub): which seems to make more sense for cc and edc but is still instills confidence (mc 9 seems to have had a rocky year)?
Personally I'm torn about 50/50. The Tp9 Elite SC feels more substantial in the hand and is easier to shoot.
But the mc9 grip feels a little more ergonomic from the carry side and prints less.
As someone that is still getting used to the idea of carrying, printing and comfort are two of my top concerns. I'm also a big dude at 6ft and 250lbs (working on it...)
So thoughts?
I know it was a long read but would appreciate any advice!! Thanks!!
Tl;dr: first time gun owner stuck between elite sc and mc9. Looking for ccw and edc and concerned about printing and comfort, but also reliability and shootability.
