When should I visit the DLC?

Hi! I bought the game this weekend thanks to many recommendations from this sub, but I’m trying to stay as spoiler-free as I can.
I’m level 44. I have currently collected 4/8 Song Parts, trained with 7/12 captains, cleared 4 offices, cleared Meredith’s quest for a record and Felix’s elemental gallivant. I got a weird cutscene with an oddly shaped fellow and Clémence let me know a rowboat just showed up, which I believe to be the DLC access. Is it best enjoyed within the main story or after I beat the main game?
