Screen fade

Hi all.
When I turn my laptop on it's completely white, then when I put pressure/squeeze on the screen the image appears, when ever I make a change I have to put pressure on the screen to see the change. When I don't put pressure on the screen it freezes again and fades to white or pixels.
Any way I can fix this myself or will it be best to take it into a shop for repairs?
