Being a copywriter in the USA πΊπΈ π vs. Being a copywriter in Britain π¬π§ π€‘
The difference in pay between the USA π and UK π€‘ makes my blood boil (deliberate hyperbole). Caveats, no doubt, but overall, creative gets a far bigger slice of the proverbial pie stateside.
Senior copy jobs here β even in London β rarely pay over Β£60k; most around Β£45k.
Stateside they pay up to $200k (if you live in NYC or LA etc).
Netflix creative director job β live now β is paying up to $825,000 a year.
Copywriters here in the UK: what do you think is a fair salary for what you do? Let me know if youβre agency or in-house, your industry, and copy type (eg, purely advertising or expository writing for web).
