why is Elle Greenaway hated??

I’m re-watching criminal minds for a school project, and I’m on the episode where elle leaves, and every time I talk about her with someone else who has watched the show they always have something negative to say. Personally, I liked her character. Yes she was heavily flawed, but so are most characters are.
