How should I be cleaning my bike after riding in wet sand?

It's that time of year again here when all the roads are covered in just the most disgusting wet sand you can imagine, and as a result, my entire bike gets full of dirt, grime and sand. It really feels like I have to do a deep clean of my entire drivetrain after every single ride, but I just do not have the time and patience for that. Is there a quicker way of getting at least most of the sand out of the drivetrain?
